How You Can Create a Breakthrough in Any Aspect of Your Life

Have you ever felt like you were stuck in a never-ending cycle of failure? Do you find yourself unable to succeed every time you endeavor to turn your life around? It’s a tough spot to be in.

When things get really bad, people hope for a breakthrough, a sudden fortuitous change of events that will completely transform their lives for the better. Here’s the bad news: breakthroughs don’t just ”happen.“

Think of any major breakthrough that has the potential to change our lives. Whether it was the launch of the iPhone in 2007 or the birth of the vaccine in 1796, hundreds of the best minds in the world toiled for years before these inventions came to fruition.

The takeaway? You have the potential to create your own breakthroughs. It takes persistence, determination and the will to change, but it is possible. How, you ask?

Here are a few tips:

The Problem Is in How You See Your Circumstances

Most of us have the ability to create meaningful change in our lives. We just don’t have the tools to do so yet. It starts with self-awareness.

It’s normal to lose perspective when you’re stuck in a rut. You don’t know how you got there and how to even begin getting out. Sit with your feelings for a week, a month or however long it takes. Get to the bottom of how you reached the place you are in life today. Identify the emotions that are holding you back.

Know your story really well. Be grounded in your emotions and all the events that have made you who you are.

Only after you’ve done that can you start making conscious changes that will enable you to make your own breakthroughs and chart a path to success.

Put Informed Strategies in Place

Once you have a good understanding of your circumstances, it’s time to make some hard decisions and put informed strategies in place.

Suppose you’ve been working in the same workplace for 5 years. Things aren’t going so great; even people who joined after you have been promoted to higher ranks.

As you reflect on your time there, you realize it’s just a job to you; you have no passion for your work. You also begin to understand that the people in your workplace have completely different goals and desires than you. With this new awareness comes the realization that you should have quit years ago – that this just isn’t the place for you – which is why you’ve been failing.

Start looking for a job that aligns with what you want to do, something you’d want to wake up for every morning. Moreover, try to find a workspace that reflects who you are as a person. Of course, this takes time, and not everyone has the luxury of just quitting their job while they do so. However, you can find joy in this process.

Trust Yourself

All of this can be scary. As you put these changes into effect, it’s important to not second guess yourself. You know who you are. You know what will bring you happiness. More than that, you have it in you to change the course of your life irrevocably.
